APPLICATION FOR HILTON-CIWA THEOLOGICAL/SPIRITUAL FORMATION FOR WOMEN RELIGIOUS(HCTFWR)
Welcome to Hilton-CIWA Theological/Spiritual Formation for Women Religious. It is a programme in partnership with Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. We are glad to inform you that application for the course is now open for intakes. We, therefore, invite the Major Superiors to identify the Sisters to apply for the course. Secretaries General are kindly implored to pass this information to your members.
As we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity, may we request you to take note of the following:
1. The course is open to all Religious women in West Africa and is fully sponsored. However, we advise that you permit, to apply for the course, only the Sisters who would have time to attend classes for two or three hours daily. Sisters engaged in heavy apostolates or already in fulltime studies elsewhere may find it difficult to follow the programme. The classes would run from Monday to Friday, for two semesters: August to December and January to May with Christmas and Easter breaks in between. Lectures run from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm (WAT). Before applying for the course, do consider your availability for classes within these hours if you are in a place with a wide time difference.
2. The courses are offered virtually, thus, access to a computer with webcam, cellular phones, and sufficient internet supply is a requirement. Residence in places where there is inadequate internet supply may pose a challenge.
3. Applications from Religious Sisters are welcome. Nevertheless, given that it is an opportunity open to Religious Sisters in the West African region, for this intake, our first priority shall be to share out the slots to the various Religious Institutes of the countries of West Africa pro rata; two chances per Institute. Novices are not included in this number limit. Thus, if you have a plan to send novices for the course, please, do let me know their number.
4. For application, please fill the form on this page.
5. The programme is designed for spiritual and religious enrichment. At the end of it, successful participants shall obtain Certificate in Theology/Spirituality. The programme does not award an academic degree and no academic credit will be conferred for it. Besides, it does NOT qualify students for admission to any diploma or degree programme in theology. Records of coursework taken and programme completion will be maintained by the Catholic Institute of West Africa.
