ELECTRONIC LIBRARY ACCESS

The elibrary resources are in two categories: Non-IP-regulated and IP-regulated. The Non-IP-regulated are those e-resources that can be accessed outside the Institute Network. The IP-regulated e-resources on the other hand are those that can be accessed only within the Institute network coverage.

DESCRIPTION OF THE E-RESOURCES
ARDI
The Access to Research for Development and Innovation (ARDI) program is coordinated by WIPO together with its partners in the publishing industry with the aim to increase the availability of scientific and technical information in developing countries by improving access to scholarly literature from diverse fields of science and technology. Currently, 17 publishers provide access to around 20,000 journals, books, and reference works for 117 developing countries and territories through ARDI.
HINARI
Health Inter Network Access to Research Initiative. The HINARI program, set up by WHO together with major publishers, enable developing countries to gain access to one of the World’s largest collections of biomedical and health literature.
AGORA
Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture. The AGORA program, set up by the food and Agriculture Organization of UN (FAO] together with major publisher, enable developing country to gain an access to an outstanding digital Library collection in the field of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences
OARE
Online Access to Resources on the Environment
GOALI
Global Online Access to Legal Information. GOALI is a public-private partnership of International Labour Organization (ILO) as a UN agency, together with Brill Nijhoff and academic partners Cornell Law School Library and the Lillian Goldman Law Library at Yale Law School. The aim of GOALI is to improve the quality of legal research, education and training in low- and middle-income countries, and in turn strengthen legal frameworks and institutions and further the rule of law. 

HOW TO ACCESS JSTOR E-RESOURCES

JSTOR
JSTOR is an IP-regulated e-resource which requires individual registration on the Institute’s Network before it can be accessed when used outside the Institute Network. JSTOR is on ALL field of study.

Follow the link provided above. It provides users access to create a username and password. These can be used to access the resource subsequently outside of the Institute network.

Students are required to register on the CIWA Network before the resources can be accessed outside the Institute Network. Therefore, students are advised to use their matriculation numbers as username and email for registration.

NOTE:
Students are strongly advised to visit the library to register on the CIWA Network for off campus access.

Open Access (OA) journals are scholarly journals that are available online to the readers "without financial, legal, or technical barriers.
