Undergraduate Programmes

CIWA academic programmes are classified into Sub-Degree Programmes, Undergraduate Degree Programmes and Post-Graduate Degree Programmes. All admission to undergraduate's programme is through Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), either through Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry (D.E).

Sub-Degree Programme

CIWA Sub-Degree programmes are designed to offer every interested and literate adult , lay person, religious and ministers of religion an opportunity to engage in serious studies either for personal enrichment, or leading to the award of a Certificate and or Diploma in Philosophy, Theology or Communication Studies. The programmes are grouped into two: Certificate Programmes and Diploma programmes.

Certificate Programmes

CIWA offers one year full time or two year part-time non-degree programme which leads to award of Certificate in Theology or in Communication Studies. The requirements are at least 3 O Level Credits and two passes in not more than two sittings including English Language. Teachers Grade 2 certificate with at least 2 merits including English and CRK will be accepted. NCE, OND, HND and BA will also be accepted.

Diploma Programmes

CIWA offers the following: Diploma in Philosophy, Diploma in Theology and Diploma in Communication Studies. The diploma programme is a two year full time or four year part-time programme aimed at offering a deeper knowledge of the basics of the chosen area. The basic requirements are 5 O level credits with English. For Diploma in Theology, credit in CRK is required, for Communication Studies, credit in English Literature is required.

Undergraduate Programmes

CIWA offers admission for Bachelor's (B.A) in Religious Studies, B.A. in Communication Studies and B.A. in Philosophy. All admission to Bachelor's programme is through Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), either through Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) or Direct Entry (D.E). The Institution Cut-Off for 2019/2020 is 160 as approved for Federal and State Universities in order to be eligible for National Youth Service. Other requirements include: 5 O level credits including English Language in SSCE (WAEC), GCE, NABTEB, or their equivalents in not more than two sittings. For B.A. in Religious Studies, credit in CRK is required. For B.A. Communication Studies, credit in English Literature is required.

B.A. Religious Studies

The three or four year Religious Studies curriculum provides a core of biblical, religious, theological and pastoral courses. The programme is designed to intellectually equip students with adequate knowledge in religious studies and theology at bachelor's level. It prepares them for advanced studies in religious education and theology and provides adequate resources for the ones who wish to engage in ministry.

B.A. Communication Studies

The three or four year Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies is designed to prepare persons wishing to pursue academic, professional or research career in the professional world of communication (Journalism and Media Studies, Public Relations, Broadcasting, and Development Communication Studies) with public services orientation and from a Christian perspective.

B.A. Philosophy

The three or four year Bachelor in Philosopher is designed to cultivate and develop in the Students, critical, logical and analytical thinking and approach to issues. It exposes them also to various branches and currents in Philosophy and prepares students for advanced philosophical studies.
